I don't know of anyone who owns an FG, but according to the mags (Modern
Photography, etc) it's very good. Pardon my slight bias, but if it's
Nikon, it's probably very well made.
[No, I don't own a Nikon. I own a Canon.]
The FG provides full automation, aperture-priority automation, and manual.
I don't think its shutter goes up to 1/4000th (like the FM2), but it does
have the Olympus OM2-style through-the-lens flash metering. It sells for
about $160 discount (body only).
