I can't tell you about the FG, but I own two Nikon F2's, with some of my lenses dating back to 1968. I do a lot of railroad photography, which is hard on the equipment (dust, jarring, dropping). The lenses and the bodies have both held up beautifully. Of course, mine aren't Series E lenses. If you *do* get anyz z X

I messed up my previous message. If you do get any Nikon camera, don't use a local repair facility when it's time for your yearly/two yearly clean/lube/adjust. I've had much better luck with Professional Camera Repair Service 37 w. 47th Street New york, N.Y. They will do the work and mail you back the equipment even before they send you the bill. And the work is always done right. I used to live in NY, and I used to go there in person. More Nikons laying about for service than the inventory of most big NY camera stores.

#N:ucbcad:24100001:000:462 ucbcad!kalash Nov 23 10:02:00 1983 I have been thinking about buying a camera, and pretty much decided on a NIKON FG. I would appreciate hearing from anyone out in netland what they think about this camera. Info like "Forty minutes after sending in the warrenty card, the lense melted", or "Great camera, even dices onions", or whatever. Please send me mail, if there is any interest, I will post to the net. Thanks, Joe Kalash kalash@berkeley ucbvax!kalash ucbcad!kalash
