I am in the market for a portable video + camera. I've narrowed my choice to the Panasonic PV-6600 and PK-957 family. I've been convinced that the equivalent GE model (4024 and 4035) are equivalent, especially after spending 2hrs on the phone with the GE answer hot line. My problem is finding the best price. There are many come-on ads in the Sunday N.Y. Times, low ball prices that don't include some standard parts (battery, remote control, etc.). My first problem is finding a reputable dealer. My second problem is getting a handle on the new units expected in April. Iv'e been told by my local Purchase Power that the PV-6600 and PJ-957 are hard to get because they are no longer being produced. PP said that Panasonic is coming out with new technology in April. Can anyone add to this. Should I buy the GE equivalent for 829.00 (4024) and 729.00 for (4035)? or should I wait till April? Jonathan M. Liss 201-9496686 houxz!4373jml
