e ugly memories of piles of gels that
still didn't come up with natural-looking colors. Very fine grain and
very fast emulsion.
I was printing from Ektachrome transparencies (2 1/4 sq) and Agfachrome
and Fujichrome 35mm slides. The paper didn't respond any better or worse
to the different transparency color balances (these are three VERY
different films in the color balance department - Ektachtome has a
definite magenta bias, Fuji has a green bias, and Agfa has a slight
yellow bias, according to my eyes). It was all the same to the paper. A
little color adjustment goes a long way with AgfaSpeed paper: it's easy
to over do it.
The worst I can say about the stuff is that the activator has some
horrible nasty ingredient that requires you to wear rubber gloves when
handling the print in the bath. I found it awkward to pull out a sheet
of paper, expose it, then put on a soggy glove (from the last print) and
develop the print (90 seconds), all in total darkness. Hopefully they'll
do something about this, but even if they don't, I like the product and
intend to use it frequently, especially considering that the only
alternatives involve several different baths, like UniColor.
