[net.rec.photo] Fireworks Photos - Thanks

bdot@hogpd.UUCP (J.BARRETT) (07/09/84)

Thanks to all those that responded to my original question. Although
most people addressed the correct way of shooting fireworks from a
stationary point, a few people did address the problem of shooting them
from a boat (very UNstationary). From the responses I received I guess
it is better not to take pictures of fireworks from a boat at all. The
exposure times are too long and a moving tripod doesn't help. I
haven't gotten the pictures back yet, all I can do is hope.

By the way, Modern Photography gives the following recommendations (based
on Kodak):

		ASA Recommended Aperture

		25 f//4.5
		50 f/5.6
		64 f/5.6
		100 f/8
		160 f/11
		200 f/11
		400 f/16
		1000 f/22

They, too, recommended exposure at "B" to give better shots.
