I'm looking for some very fast slide film (i.e. ASA over 800) for some night aerial photography work. I've heard of a 3M film at ASA 640 that could be pushed one stop and still developed commercially (I have no developing equipment nor expertise). An effective ASA 1000 or 1200 or 1500 would be wonderful. I'd also be willing to try pushing Ektachrome 400 two stops, if someone knows where I could get the film developed. Any ideas? -- Alan M. Kodak has recently introduced some stuff that they call Ektachrome P800/1600 (or something like that). It's a slide film that is nominally rated at 400, but Kodak will also push-process it for you to 800 or 1600, and some custom labs will push it to 3200.

The Ektachrome P800/1600 film is good; but, it's a professional film, meaning it has to be refridgerated, processed immediately and is difficut to obtain. Fuji has a new 1600 FujiChrome out that is better yet than the P800/1600; I don't remember what it's called, but it's also a professional film. It was reviewed in either Popular or Modern Photography a couple of months back.
