As long as we're discussing zooms, we might as well bring up the new Tokina 35-200 f/2.8 Macro-zoom. It's a wonderful lens. I have a (made in Japan, USA available also) 35-200 and love it. It is very compact, sturdy, and lightweight. I've had no problems with the one-touch focusing, nor have I had any distortion/coloration problems. What's really great is that you can combine it with a 2X extender, and still have a reasonably short lens which brings you from 70 to 400mm with good quality. In effect, you have a good 35-400mm Macro-zoom with a pretty decent exposure range. I use mine with a Canon AE1-Program, with no problems in the program mode. Does anyone have any comments? I'd love to know what's wrong with the lens--it's seems to good to be true. -- Erin Vang @ St. Olaf College ...ihnp4!stolaf!vange Flame if you must, but I don't promise to be polite to you.
