I've noticed several comments on problems with 47th St. Photo. I had a recent strange experience with them and wondered whether anyone else had experienced the same. I have used them for about 8 years with no complaints, my last order was a bad experience. I ordered Nikon binoculars. The first problem was they asked if I wanted a cse with them ($10). Without thinking I said yes (later realizing that the binoculars I ordered come with a case. I called back to cancel the case and was told it was cancelled ( the extra $10 was still on the final bill). The real surprise for me was when I received the binoculars (in 7 days as promised) with a note that they had overcharged me $100 (to my credit card) and that a credit voucher would follow. There was no explanation for the overcharge and the credit came almost a month later. Is 47th St. floating phony credit charges? If they did this to 100 customers they would have the use of $10,000 for a month for free. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Please mail replies to me. If there is sufficient experience I will summarize to the net. If enough others have had similar experiences I plan to go to the New York Better Business Bureau and check this out.
