[net.rec.photo] ASA compensation for film speed 1000 to 800

1. Don't be worried over it. I have been assured that Kodak vr1000
shoots better at asa 800 a slight over exposure. (1000 - 800)/800 is 25%
over exposed. Not that critical for color print.

2. Use a 25% FASTER shutter spped to make the amount of illumination the same.

Set the camera on manual, with asa800.
I'm just guessing but most cameras have a meter which will show over or under
exposure. At asa 800 the meter show a shutter speed balanced for the
F stop you have set. NOW go to the NEXT FASTER shutter speed if it is about
25% faster than the on the light meter says is correct for the f stop.

3. Sorry if I have confused you, but try it with the camera in your hands.

4. You probably won't use the current 1000 plus speed films unless you
do alot of VERY dim light ot VERY long lense work without a tripod with
very slow OPTICS (I can't spell :-) ). They are still much grainier than
asa 100 to asa 200 films even on standard printing. Forget enlargements.
THEY ARE NEEDED IN SOME SITUATIONS JUST TO GET A PICTURE THOUGH>
