I need advice about lenses for 8x10 views.... In particular, how do the following lenses compare in terms of coverage, sharpness, convenience,etc. : 300 mm Dagor... is it going to be better for coverage than a similar Wide Field Ektar? Does it matter who made the Dagor (C.P. Goerz, or Goerz-U.S.A.) Are Ektars any worse in general than Dagors? They are faster, I know. I think I perceive a difference in pictures taken by the two lenses, but they were not directly comparable subjects, so I can't trust my eyes. Are the old Protar lenses (triple convertible?) nice to use? Is shift of focus a hassle or is it easily mastered? What about Turner Reich Triplets? Is there anyone out there who has one and uses it? I cannot afford a brand new computer-designed 8x10 lens, nor do I really want to spend all that on one lens when I am not going to enlarge much (if at all). Please mail me (or post if you want) your views on any of these lenses (or whatever you use), if there's enough info I'll summarize.
