Took pictures at St. Patrick's Easter mass. It's amazing how many people you can accidentally bludgeon with a six inch zoom. A lot of people brought along flashes and blasted away all throughout the mass. Never having done this before, I brought VR1000 with me. None of the flashes, however, were as obnoxious as the NBC camera crew and their zillion watt floodlamps which they continually aimed directly into my eyes.

I have always been amused by the people taking flash pictures of the slide screen at engineering conferences (especially ISSCC), though I notice this practice is less common than it used to be. Dave Rabinowitz hplabs!hp-pcd!daver

Ever notice all the hundreds of people who use flashbulbs at football games, the olympics, etc.? :-) I think you did the right thing. -- Full-Name: J. I hadn't seen people take flash pictures of a slide screen before. That is really funny. Sadly, a flashcube actually helps your average Instamatic user taking pictures at a football game. Plugging in the flashcube lowers the shutter speed to about 1/40 from the normal 1/90. Of course, a dead flashcube works just as well as a live one .... wunder
