Last night while cleaning a Nikkor 35mm f2.0 lens that I am taking for backup on a European trip, I did a very stupid thing. There was this little screw on the diaphragm ring. Obviously if I unscrewed it the ring would come off and I could clean 14 years of gruck out of there. So I unscrewed it. The ring did not come off. So I screwed it back. It wouldn't go all the way. And the rear ring no longer controls the stopped down diaphragm opening. HELP!!!!!!! Does anyone within earshot know how to fix this problem? There is no time for me to send the lens to Nikon. I can try two local stores who just might do their own work (but I doubt it). This is what comes of old age. When I was younger I knew better than to fiddle with screws on expensive lenses. -- "It's the thought, if any, that counts!" Dick Grantges hound!rfg
