[net.rec.photo] New Ektachrome is very good

klein@ucbcad.UUCP (Mike Klein) (05/29/85)

Just wanted to pass this along...

On a recent trip, I used the new Ektachrome 100 slide film in addition to
my old trusty Kodachrome 25. I just got the pictures back, and the
Ektachrome is great! Disadvantages are that it's not quite as sharp as
the K25 and the colors are not as saturated. But the advantages are
more numerous: higher speed, much better exposure latitude, overall the
colors are more natural than K25 although they are slanted a bit toward
the cool side. On the whole, I think this film will finally replace
K25 for my general-purpose picture taking!

Thank you to the people who recommended Ektachrome when I asked for
suggestions over the net.
