I have a bit of an oddball flash that I use on my Canon T70. I bought a Starblitz 3600. I find it quite good - it has slave mode, tilt/swivel/zoom, filters, pretty high power, and a secondary fill flash. It also was the only "big" flash that fit my budget. Now for the problem. The flash doesn't really have a power off button. Yes, it does a button to start up the charging and one to stop it. However, even when it is not charging, firing the camera will cause the flash to fire and start up the charging again. Thus, if I want to take a picture without the flash, I have to take the flash off of the camera. Does anybody have any suggestions as to where I could find an adapter shoe that has a switch on it to disable the flash trigger? Also, while you are thinking about that, does anybody know if there is an adapter shoe that contains the necessary electronics to tell the Canon that there is a flash connected to it? The 3600 is not a dedicated flash, and I hate having to set the T70 manually. An adapter shoe with an off-on switch and a dial similar to the film speed selector would suffice quite nicely.
