I have been shopping around for automatic (mostly aperture pref'd) mid-priced cameras for a while now, and my local camera dealer told me something about the shutter in the Nikon FE2, FM2, and FA cameras that I find disconcerting. Disconcerting because the FE2 has all the features I desire and seems like a good buy. What he told me is that the new 1/4000 sec. shutter occasionaly jams when one of the lightweight titanium blades jumps the track and gets caught in a mess. He said that 20% of these cameras that he sells to professionals come back with this problem. His claim was lended considerable weight when someone walked into the shop just then with their new FE2 with the shutter jammed. My question is, does anyone on the net have more info about this, and specifically, does anybody know if Nikon intends to correct the situation in the near future? Thanks in advance, and I'll take my replies on the net. -- David Longerbeam @ Zehntel Automation Systems, Inc. {ihnp4|ucbvax}!zehntel!davel
