The following summarizes the results of the 35mm slide and print surveys posted to the net about a month ago. Thanks to all who responded (a total of 44 different people!). Please also read my comments at the end of the survey. Comments are welcome in either net.rec.photo or by mail. \tom haapanen watmath!watdcsu!haapanen --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Why do you use the slide film(s) indicated above? Unfortunately, I can't summarize these results. Most people use a given film because they like the results they get. A few use the cheapest film they canfind. Since practically no one processes, prints or frames their own films (except b/w) I have omitted the results, being too meaningless and too difficult to summarize. Sorry! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some thoughts about running surveys on usenet: i. Don't run two surveys simultaneously, with different question numbers. You will end up super-confused. ii. Don't have the choices numbered (a)..(z), because people will reply with just the letter, leaving you to decipher what the choice is. iii. Don't underestimate the time necessary to summarize the results. iv. Set a time limit on replies so you won't have replies trickling in for weeks on end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- \tom haapanen watmath!watdcsu!haapanen I'm all lost in the Supermarket I can no longer shop happily I came in here for that special offer Guaranteed personality (c) The Clash, 1979
