It sounds like you are using an old or inexpensive flash with Ektachrome film. That is a bad combination. Old flashes and some new inexpensive flashes are not color corrected for daylight film. They need a warming filter (yellow) on the flash or the lens. The effect is not as noticeable with Kodachrome film, but it is still there. A color corrected flash used with Kodachrome film works very well with hardly any color shift.
