Regarding reading the light off the film DURING the exposure, as opposed to precalculating the exposure time, I think the following is true. Minolta was the first to do this. They licensed other camera makers to use their technology (Olympus?) before actually offering this feature on their own brand-name cameras. Presently, Minolta offers several models which have this feature. I think it works by measuring the light reflected from the film while the shutter is open. At least some of the other camera manufacturers offering this feature presently are using Minolta's technology, under royalty. Michael Stimac ...hplabs!oliveb!tymix!stimac
