A couple of weekends back, a friend of mine picked up a disk controller board
at a local swap-meet, thinking it was a Tarbell single-density controller. It
is a bare board, and he came to me to borrow my Tarbell manual so he could put
his board together, and we find that it's actually a Vista disk controller. It
turns out that Tarbell licensed the design to Vista back in '77. The board
seems to be slightly different, with the addition of a couple of IC's where the
Tarbell board had spares. Tarbell has no idea what Vista did with the board
once they licensed it from Tarbell, and the people at Vista had no idea what I
was talking about. Any information detailing the differences between the Vista
controller and the Tarbell controller would be greatly appreciated.
