A remarkable paper entitled "The nonexistence of a projective plane of order 10" by Professor Udo Ott of Braunschweig is now being circulated. This nine page work, dated 17 September 1984, has only four references: Gunning (1962), Hall (1981), Ott (198x), and MacWilliams, Sloan, and Thompson, (1973). The author makes extensive use of modular forms and and refers to his preprint "On the Hecke algebra of finite Projective planes", from Universita' di Roma.
