Rindfleisch@SUMEX-AIM (05/28/82)
From: T. C. Rindfleisch <Rindfleisch at SUMEX-AIM> The SUMEX and Heuristic Programming Projects in the Stanford Computer Science Department have an opening for a system programmer to support personal Lisp machines being used for research on expert AI systems applied to biomedicine, engineering, and other areas. We currently have a number of Xerox Dolphin (1100) workstations and will soon be getting others including the Symbolics LM-2/3600. These machines are used in an extensive local Ethernet environment which connects the workstations with various TENEX, TOPS-20, and VAX/UNIX systems and with other network servers. Responsibilities will include acquiring and integrating new Lisp machines into the Stanford computing and network environment, helping AI applications groups use the machines effectively, developing needed system software and enhancements, troubleshooting problems, acting as liaison with vendors and user groups, and assisting with related Lisp systems on time-shared hosts. Candidates should have at least a BS in CS or EE, familiarity with a modern Lisp dialect, 3 years of systems experience in an interactive computing environment, and the ability to work well with a diverse technical user group. Salary will be competitive and based on previous experience. Send resumes to me via net message or US mail: Thomas C.
