HAL@MIT-MC (07/23/82)
From: Hal Abelson <HAL at MIT-MC> The MIT Laboratory for Computer Science has a fall opening for a permanent research staff position in the Educational Computing Group. Our group is developing a highly interactive computational environment for non-expert programmers, which integrates programming, data-manipulation, communication, and graphics. The system is envisioned as a follow-on to the Logo language, although although of much wider scope and applicability. Implementation is currently done using Lisp machines. Applicants should be knowledgeable about Logo, should have a general interest in the issues of designing systems for non-expert programmers, and must have substantial experience with large-scale systems development in Lisp. Previous experience with Lisp machines would also be highly desirable. Applicants should contact: Prof. Hal Abelson Laboratory for Computer Science MIT Cambridge, Ma. 02139 Hal@MIT-MC
