The Yale Computer Science Department is experiencing rapid growth and
has several openings for staff in the Department's Computer Facility.

Specifically:

    (1) Assistant Director of Operations & Development
    (1) Software Systems Programmer
    (1) Programmer/Analyst
    (1) Staff Assistant

The Assistant Director will supervise the programming, maintenance
and operations staff as well as being responsible for support and
ongoing development of our diverse and growing software and hardware
environment.  The position requires excellent management and technical
skills. An advanced degree is preferred.

The Software Systems Programmer will be a senior technical staff member
with primary responsibility for operations/maintenance/development
of our growing ring (currently 130) of Apollo Domain Workstations.

The Programmer/Analyst will be responsible for applications programming
in several different environments including TOPS-20, VMS, Unix and
Apollo Domain.

The Staff Assistant will assist with budgetary matters, will prepare
grant proposals and general administrative support.

The primary experimental research interests of the Department are in
artificial intelligence, scientific computation, distributed systems,
architecture, and programming languages.

Yale is moving strongly to personal computing, and we are especially looking
for people who will take the initiative in designing and implementing
new software systems (editors, mail systems, databases, etc.) that
are appropriate to our distributed environment.

Salaries for these positions are competitve, and benefits are excellent.
