The Scientific Programmer position with the ONCOCIN project at Stanford
University is still open (notice was posted on the ARPANET BBOARDS last
month).  The job will concentrate on the development of knowledge base
acquisition and maintenance tools for a medical expert system. The
progrmmer will participate in the design of alternative representation
techniques for the knowledge in the system.  Please contact Larry

I have also been asked to post the following message:

A computer based Protein Identification Resource (PIR) has recently
been established with the support of the National Institutes of Health
Division of Research Resources.  A position will shortly be available
for a computer scientist with strong background in the biological
sciences, preferably with experience in protein chemistry.  The
operating environment is VAX/VMS running on an 8 megabyte VAX-11/780,
with programming in Fortran and C.  Applications in artificial
intelligence are planned for the future.  Anyone interested should
