[line of infinite length.... eat this and be sick!]
First a few quick covering notes.
a) I hope net.math is the right place for this query, I think it's closer than
net.graphics.
b) Please reply by mail, I don't usually read this newsgroup.
I am at present working on fractal generated landscapes & coastlines for
terrain simulations. I have plenty of info for two-dimensional cases
but a practical algorithm for three dimensions eludes me.
In an ideal (fractal? :-)) world I would like a process to take a surface such
as a plane portion or spherical surface portion and a generating function
(such as a mountain description) and produce a matrix of point heights.
If anyone has any information, pointers etc, please let me know.
Thanx in advance.
