inews was profiled on the ARPAVAX and you know who uses the most time? history(). Our history file was so long that it was slowing down inews immensely. Some words to the wise: Keep the history file short. Another slow thing in inews is retransmitting articles. Forking shells all over is a disaster. I don't believe the option to not fork a shell works yet, however. Just something to consider, for the time being. Matt
