[net.news.b] Sugestion on readnews '#' command

apologize to those of you who have already read the one I sent last night.

I concur with Paul Lustgarten about the usefulness of the 'e' option
for people like me who tend to read their news sporadically. I often have
20-30 articles occurring AFTER the one I would like to respond to. Since I
do not wish to make a fool of myself, I tend to wait until I see how other 
people have responded and never quite get around to adding my comments.

I wonder how difficult it would be to have the '#' command report the
number of articles that have not been read - as well as the serial number
of the last article. This would provide useful information for those of us who
have used the 'e' option liberally in the past and are now traversing a
sparsely populated newslist.

I also wonder what happens when an article is "cancelled". Does that leave
a gap in the sequence numbers?
