[net.news.b] request for info about news 2.10

    I remember hearing that a new version of news (2.10???) will be posted
some time soon, like late January or early February.  Does anyone know
anyting more concrete? (Mark, are you there?)  Specifically:  when will
it be posted?
    I guess others on the net will be interested, so please post your info.

I believe Mark is planning to post 2.10 sometime soon after USENIX.
Aside from numerous bug fixes, a very nice feature (I think) is that
if an article comes in belonging to a group that is not existent on
the local system (without the proper ctl message), the group will NOT
be created but the article will instead go to a dead article bin and
the news admin for that site will be informed (in case he/she wants
to create the 'new' group)  Thus endeth (for 2.10 sites anyway)
illegitimate groups.
