[net.news.b] vnews bug?

cfv@packet.UUCP (06/28/83)

I seem to have a problem with vnews running under the arnold curses. Every
so often it will decide to run my entire session in standout mode. I though
for a while that it was some funny character in a message, but today it
decided to stay in standout no matter what I tried over a whole range of
messages. I am using the 'standard' h19 termcap with an (suprise) h19. Vi
and more seem to have no problem with this one, and this is the first time
I have seen vnews act this way. Anyone else have this problem? Could it be
a termcap bug?

Here is some more information on this wonderful vnews bug. My termcap is
correct. When I delete a line from my .newsrc it goes away the next time
I run it. It then puts that line back into .newsrc and it comes back the
second time I run it. (I am using options -n all junk). I went back into
.newsrc and changed all of the unsubscribed groups from (net.micro.cbm! 1-5)
to (net.micro.cbm!) and it seems to have gone away permanently. It doesn't
seem to be in visual.c anywhere so it almost has to be some strange
interaction between visual.c and the rest of the readnews stuff. I haven't
found the solution (yet) unless you consider editing .newsrc a solution.
Anyone else want to beat on this one?
