Having just installed news 2.10 and spent many happy(!) hours trying to work out why we were getting news articles which were claiming to have been posted several days after we received them(!) or even some date in the future ... i can't help wondering ... shouldn't we be more consistent about what we call various timezones ... for instance ... BST ... which, as far as i could work out, is the one causing the problem. Now as far as i've always known, BST is 'British Summer Time', however 'getdate' seems to think it's something to do with 'Bering' as consequently adds on 11 hours to the time which really messes things up especially if the original date was in the afternoon. One idea is perhaps to pass dates around in GMT and convert them to local time at your own site, but the main thing i feel is that we are consistent with regard to what various abbreviations mean.
