If OLD is not defined, then inews does not transmit an 'A' header correctly. The article id is blank--the first line consists of just an "A". If I read the installation document correctly, I thought that OLD was supposed to only add extra headers for 'B' format. The problem seems to be that oident is only set by an "Article-Id:" header line, and isn't set if OLD is undefined. I have only perused the source, and so the above may be in error. We use 'A' format only to talk to notesfiles, and would rather not need to have OLD defined just for that. Charles LaBrec pur-ee!Physics:crl purdue!Physics:crl
