Hi, Just a question... I have noticed in news groups such as net.micro that in 2.10.1 news articles have numbers for file names and there are subgroups such as net.micro.432 and net.micro.6809. Thus it seems to me that /usr/spool/news/net/micro/432 could either be a subgroup or article 432. I haven't looked at the code. Just casually wondering... Cheers, Dan Ts'o ...cmcl2!rna!dan

The name conflict should not cause any problems for news. .../micro/6809 is a directory, so the software can tell the difference between an article and a newsgroup. And the code that creates articles checks to see if it succeeded in creating the article file, and if not, it tries the next sequential number.
