[net.news.b] Where is news 2.10.2

rick@seismo.UUCP (Rick Adams) (09/09/84)

On Monday, I posted the news sources parts 1-4.
On Tuesday, I posted parts 5-8.
On Wednesday, I posted part 9.

Judging from the volume of mail I have received, something wierd
is going on out there.

Almost no one received part one. Almost everyone received parts
3,4,5,7,8 and 9 truncated in some form or another.

No one reported any problems with part 2 or part 6!

I have reposted parts 1,3,4,5,7,8. This time, I sent them
to a few uucp neighbors insead of our usual news feeds. Apparently
they are getting through intact this time.

If you do have a problem, please include the Path: that the
article took. I can't conclude anything from a one line
sentence from 5 uucp hops away that says "part 5 arrived truncated".
With more information, perhaps I can determine where/what the
problem is. (This applies to bug reports also....)

Arpanet sites may ftp the source from seismo with the anonymous login.
the file is pub/2.10.2.src.tar.

Those of you with direct uucp links to seismo can uucp either
the entire source tar file (about 480K bytes) or the individual parts
that I posted to net.sources. For uucp, the file names are:
	~uucp/2.10.2.src.tar The Entire source directory.
	~uucp/news.src.[1-9] Part [1-9] from net.sources

Also, I have posted most of the doc directory (the man pages are coming.
really.) So far there are 3 parts with at least 1 more to come.
The installaltion guide is in part 1. Make sure that you read it
carefully. The documents may be uucped from seismo as:
	~uucp/news.doc.[1-3] Part [1-3] from net.sources

At this time there are no other uucp sites that have to correct
version. However, I expect some of the major ones to announce
the availability when they are ready.
