[net.news.b] timezone 2.10.2

netnews@wnuxb.UUCP (Ron Heiby) (09/28/84)

In testing 2.10.2, I noticed that the test articles that I post have a
timezone of GMT, instead of CDT. Is this an intentional change in 2.10.2?
Does it fix some bug (timewarp?)? Am I doing something stupid? It
doesn't bother me either way, it's just a change. Thanks.

The use of GMT is intentional. It solves 2 problems.

First, there is no confusion over what the timezone appreviations
mean (e.g. BST = Bering Standard Time or British Summer Time).

Second, you will notice that the day of the week is not used. This
gets around the time warp bug.
