I'd like to keep news on one machine but have a rvnews (remote vnews) so that the .nesrc file is local but the sources stay where they are. We're running 2.10.1, but I could adapt other vnews's. Does anyone have this? How about remote *news* programs like checknews, postnews, ...? -- --steve kramer {allegra,genrad,ihnp4,utzoo,philabs,uw-beaver}!linus!axiom!smk (UUCP) linus!axiom!smk@mitre-bedford (MIL)

How about a remote file system so you don't need modified software to make your applications run? We've been running readnews on 1000 machines here out of one spool directory with no changes to the news software.
