[net.math] What is the status of the Riemann Hypothesis?

ewa@gatech.UUCP (Eric Allender) (02/04/85)

On the twenty-seventh of December, 1984, an article was posted to net.math
by R. D. Silverman of MITRE Corp., in which it was claimed that the Riemann
Hypothesis has been proved. I have seen no follow-up on this, either here
or elsewhere. What's the story? When will more details become available?

I have no reliable info, except that while I was at a conference in
Berkeley, in Jan, I heard the same rumor, and then a followup rumor that
there were doubts about (or a bug in) the proof.
