Why then does MASSPORT put a $20 fee ($160 if you're over 12,500) between 11 pm and 7 am. Why not let light aircraft land (or even just let Hanscom based light aircraft land), maybe only on Rwy 11 (i.e. over the swamp). I suppose this is a case where an alledged solution to noise goes far past the noise problem, and as a result, takes a significant bite out of the utility of general aviation. Pete

In response to your message of Fri Aug 6 11:12:32 1982: How are you going to distinguish, in the air, what is a Hanscom-based aircraft and what is not? Further, I see no reason why noise levels should not be even more restricted during the night-time hours. "Light aircraft" covers a lot of range; I'd be just as happy not to have a Cherokee Six on final when I'm trying to sleep.
