If you did this you can also take investment tax credit(ITC). There are some restrictions on both the depreciation and the ITC as to how long a period you can spread the dep. over. If you use it partially for business, you can dep. that portion only. Remember that dep. is not tax avoidance, but a tax delaying measure. If, example, you dep'd the machine to zero in five years and sold it in the 5th year, you would owe tax on the sale price--that could be a bundle. I too look for such a method(that works)
