Rick--You really need to check with an accountant about writing off
a plane but--The only real way is to use it totaly in a business
which means no pleasure flights at all.  If you did this you can
also take investment tax credit(ITC).  There are some restrictions
on both the depreciation and the ITC as to how long a period
you can spread the dep. over.   If you use it partially for business,
you can dep. that portion only.

Remember that dep. is not tax avoidance, but a tax delaying measure.
If, example, you dep'd the machine to zero in five years and sold it
in the 5th year, you would owe tax on the sale price--that could be
a bundle.
