Late Night News just reported that this information was discovered in
the ongoing investigation. A computer recorded the data collected by
a radar not yet fully installed. Being 15 miles off-course after less
than 1 hour flight translates into hundreds of miles off-course by the
time the Asian mainland wuld be reached. But no warning system for
such "emergencies" exist, apparently.

Other news: the beeper of the black-box should work for 30 days, but
the Navy thinks that it has stopped now after only
		3 weeks.

A Japanese paper reports that the US Navy has found the box
but the Navy denies the report. Would they turn it
over to an international body for investigation ??
Might be recommendable, because the Russians are
going to claim that the US will doctor the records,
just as everybody is already howling that the Russians
		will do that.
