[net.aviation] changing the address on your pilot's license

cdh@BBN-UNIX@sri-unix.UUCP (09/26/83)

From: Carl D. Howe <cdh@BBN-UNIX>

I need to change the address on my private pilot's license. Is the fee still
$2? Who do you send it to? Do they issue you a new copy?

For those of you who remember me sending a message about Vector
ultralights a while back, I ended up buying one with a friend. The model #
is a 627SR, and we just finished assembling it. We're now working on
breaking in the engine and looking for a good place around Boston to base it.
Current possibilities are Tew-Mac, Minuteman, and Marlboro; any comments
on ultralight operations at these fields?

The reason I'm trying to update my license is that many FBOs require a
private license to operate an ultralight from their field.

You must notify the FAA within 30 days of moving or your certificate
is invalid. You need not send a fee, but they will not send you a
new license. The $2 is for a new copy of your certificate. You only
need send the money if you want a copy with your new address. (P.S.
getting a new copy does take a while).

In either case, the address is
	Federal Aviation Administration
	Airman Certification Branch
	P.O. Box 25082
	Oklahoma City, OK 73125
