[net.aviation] NOS vs. Jeppeson

I prefer NOS plates to Jeppeson plates. Here's why:

1. NOS is a lot cheaper.

2. Since the entire NOS approach plate book is replaced every 2 months,
I can write on my plates, tear them out of the book if it's convenient
to do so, and in general don't have to worry about them getting wet
    or crumpled through heavy use.

3. NOS plates are simpler to read then Jepp plates, because they are
less cluttered. I suppose I could get used to reading Jepp plates
with enough practice, but I prefer the uncluttered format.

4. NOS plates are the ones used by all instrument flying textbooks. This
is not very important to most pilots, but it's a nice feature if you're
    planning to become a CFII.
