[net.aviation] Hitching a ride!

Does anyone know if it is EVER possible for a civilian to experience a ride in a
military jet aircraft (something alone the lines of the shuttle chase planes (in
other words -- FAST planes)). I really want to experience this before I die...I
just don't know how to go about making it happen. Thanks for any leads, --Bill

Have you considered enlistment? :-)

In a recent (last year or so) magazine -- either Road & Track or Car and Driver,
I forget which -- there was an article by a civilian writer about a ride he
took in a Marine Corps Phantom jet. Apparently they gave him a ride just so
he could write about it. So it IS possible, if rare.

Enlisting is a great idea! If only there weren't all those other
people who wanted to fly jets.
