[net.aviation] Air Show

scw@cepu.UUCP (05/17/84)

Just heard on the news (by my wife), the 'Planes of Fame Air Museum' is
having an Air show this weekend (Sunday for sure, Sat (?)). Come see the
really spiffy collection of Old aircraft. P-51's, P-40's, A6M5 Zero-sen,
Tony, B-25, they may even have finished their B-26!!!!. They even have a
Pea-shooter (A pre WWII low-wing mono-plane fighter w/fixed gear). The
airshow is usually quite good, with flybys of some *VERY RARE* aircraft.
The Airshow is held at the Chino Airport, in Chino CA. Chino is about 25
miles due east of Los Angeles (just south-east of Pomona). Take hwy 60
(the Pomona Fwy , to Hwy 71 then south for about 5 miles and follow the
signs). If you are planning on flying in please contact the Airport
*BEFORE* you depart, in fact you should contact them well in advance (ASAP)
to find out when they are going to close the airport down for the show!!

I'm sorry for the lateness of this posting but my G-2 shop seems to have
fallen down on the job this time, next year I'll arrange to get early
notification and will post much earlier.

See ya there.
