[ 'Mother, this is the "youngin'" again .... (that makes you VERY old) (-: ]

Glad, you caught my crossed wires about upgrading "Jimmy" to a B-49. Actually,
it was a B-47, of course. The B-35 and B-49 never made it out of the experi-
mental stage before it got "killed in committee".

RE: Anybody know if the Confederate Air Force has ...

Yep. The answer is NO. CAF limits itself to WW-II birds. Hard-enough to
pay the bills for those ....

>From what I read here, there are 3 confirmed sightings of the bird:
Dayton, Omaha, Forth Worth. Fort Worth being at 1.3 Warrior-hours is in
easy range for me, and I just got confirmed that I can get a permit to
land at the otherwise restricted airport. Anyone know who may be contacted
in that group rumoured to be interested in restoring the bird? I understand
that people are 'climbing all over it, which makes me wonder if it is a
worthwhile sight. I'd sure like to see one with both prop and jet-engines
in place - which may not be true for the one in Fort Worth.

BTW, down here in Texas we get to see lots of CAF air-shows, must be the
climate and geography - helps them last longer ... and crash softer ???

Yes indeed there is a B-36 at Fort Worth, at least 2 years ago there was one.
It is in an air force museum just outside the air force base. I remember
during the weekend that I was there that about every minute a B-52 would
take off from the runway next to this museum, and over the motel we stayed at.

You couldn't really climb over the beast, but they did have ladders to peer into
the cockpit and bomb bay. The beast is definitly BIG. There were a whole
bunch of other planes and pieces of planes at this place. Definitly interesting
place to visit.
